1. Request a Commission

Please feel free to contact me at lunahennessey@gmail.com or submit a request through this form here.

When submitting a request please include as much detail about your commission as possible including reference photos and your thoughts about sizing preferences. Of course, I’m happy to help with any questions at this stage, but the more information I can get the clearer I can be about my estimate.

2. Response & Estimate

I’ll get back to you as soon as possible with whether I can accept the commission (sometimes my commission queue gets too long) an estimate on how long your commission will take as well as what the timeline looks like.

The timeline can vary based on how many commissions are currently in the queue and each painting can take up to 3 weeks to complete and ship. I’ll be as clear about timing with you as I’m able to estimate.

3. Complete the Commission Agreement

Once we have both agreed to your commission, the next step will be to submit a commission agreement form which I will send you. The commission form will contain any additional details about the pet portrait I’ll need to begin, as well as detailed pricing. The commission agreement ensures your commitment to our project.

4. Submit Reference Photos & Details

Along with the commission form, any reference photos (reference photo guide can be found here) and additional details about your commission are super helpful to get the project ready.

Some details that are helpful are:

  • The name of your pet
  • Their breed
  • Tell me about their disposition, personality, likes, and dislikes
  • Who is this portrait for?
  • Is this a commemoration?
  • Do you have any ideas about where you would like to hang this portrait?

5. Ready to Paint & Deposit

Once I’m nearing the date where I’m ready to begin your pet portrait, I’ll get in contact and let you know I’m about to start. Before I begin, I require a 20% deposit of the portrait value agreed upon in the commission agreement. Once I receive this, I’m ready to paint!

6. Work & Progress

Once work begins, you’ll receive regular updates on the painting progress. I’m always happy to receive feedback and hope to give you ample opportunity to give input on the direction of your commission.

Often I will stream my work on my Twitch channel. I’d absolutely love it if you came and watched me work on your portrait. You can find my Twitch channel here.

7. Feedback & Iteration

The next step as for me to commit to any feedback I’ve received and iterate on your commission to ensure I deliver it at the quality and level of expectation you have.

8. Final Approval & Payments

Once the pet portrait is complete and I’ve had time to iterate on your feedback, I’ll send you high-resolution photos for your approval, along with an approval form. Once completed, the remaining payment is due and then I’m able to send you your portrait!

9. Shipping

Upon receiving your final payment, I will ship your painting immediately via the preferred method agreed upon in the commission agreement form.

10. Hang It!

Your painting should arrive quickly and be finished and ready to hang! Wood canvas does not require a frame to be hung and should be ready to be put up wherever you choose.

Once you’ve hung it, I love seeing pictures and I also love receiving any feedback or referrals.
